Efficiency reimagined – with predictive maintenance
This online fashion retailer is a real trendsetter. With brands such as Pretty Little Thing, Karen Millen and Debenhams in their portfolio, the British online fashion retailer delights customers all over the world. And their demands are high: In addition to modern styles and top quality, they also expect the shortest delivery times. To meet these demands, this online fashion retailerhas worked with SSI SCHAEFER to equip their distribution center in Sheffield, UK, with state-of-the-art automation technology.
Covering an area of over 57,000 sqm, the complex material flow system with an SSI Cuby shuttle warehouse and WAMAS logistics software processes around 40,000 items per hour. However, even the best technology alone is not enough to keep a system of this size running smoothly – only a well-thought-out maintenance strategy will ensure them continues to perform at their best in the future.
The solution
Predictive maintenance by SSI SCHAEFER offers the optimum solution here: Smart maintenance combines real-time monitoring, big data and artificial intelligence to precisely predict the maintenance requirements of each individual component. In a pilot project, the entire system was digitally networked step-by-step. This means that all key performance indicators for over 5,000 assets can be recorded continuously.
The data collected is collated in the WAMAS Maintenance Center, where it is evaluated by the analysis software from SupplyBrain – an SSI SCHAEFER start-up. The goal: To optimize maintenance planning and identify weak points before they become a problem.
