Secure remote support for maximum availability
CERP is one of France’s leading pharmaceutical wholesalers. From their warehouse in Le Plessis-Robinson, France, alone, the company supplies over 600 pharmacies in the region as well as numerous subsidiaries throughout the country. Many of these pharmacies are also shareholders – a cooperative model that ensures close customer relationships and strong market shares.
In order to secure this position, CERP has been relying on SSI SCHAEFER for almost 30 years. Together, they have already implemented the system in Le Plessis-Robinson and equipped it with modern automation technologies. However, this alone is not enough to ensure the highest quality and delivery reliability – total availability is also crucial. The key: Fast and secure remote support.
Classic site-to-site VPNs reach their limits here. This is why CERP now relies on secure remote access: The smart remote access concept takes the security and efficiency of the logistics processes in Le Plessis-Robinson and other warehouses to the next level.
The solution
Secure remote access allows service teams targeted remote access to the systems in the warehouse. Thanks to end-to-end encryption, multi-factor authentication and the zero trust principle, security is the number one priority here. Access rights are limited to the minimum (least privilege access) and all activities are logged in detail. Unlike site-to-site VPNs, each access is only granted individually when needed. This way, control constantly remains with the customer – and sensitive processes are optimally protected.
In order to tailor the remote maintenance solution exactly to CERP's requirements, a small project group was formed. Requirements were gradually recorded, documented and implemented – from the test environment to going live. The result is a complete success: Secure remote access is now in use in 12 of 15 locations and is being gradually rolled out to all locations.
