Michael Herbert Becomes New CFO of SSI SCHAEFER Group

• The SSI SCHAEFER Group has appointed Michael Herbert as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from September 1, 2026.

• He succeeds Olaf Hedden, who is stepping down from active professional duties with this transition.

The SSI SCHAEFER Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers of intralogistics and material flow solutions, has appointed Michael Herbert as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from September 1, 2026. He will thus be taking over the duties of Olaf Hedden, who is leaving the company at his own request on August 31, 2026.

Michael Herbert has been working at SSI SCHAEFER for three years as Senior Vice President Finance and has extensive experience in financial management. In this function, he played a key role in shaping Group Finance and was responsible for key initiatives in the company’s financial management. By appointing from within our own organization, the Group is making a conscious choice in favor of continuity, stability and the values that define the family-owned business. 

Olaf Hedden took over the role of CFO in October 2023. During a critical phase for the company, he made a significant contribution to the Group’s further development through his extensive experience. The Advisory Board and Management Board would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his commitment and valuable contribution and wish him all the best for the future.
