FAQ About the PR 600 Pallet Racking
PR 600 pallet racking: In which areas of application can it be used?
Pallet racking is suitable as classic storage racking for Euro pallets or pallet cages, for example, regardless of the sector.
The loads that a pallet rack can accommodate depend on various parameters such as height, width, rack depth, frame design, number of storage levels and the beam design. Storage containers or bulky goods can also be stored using accessories such as gratings or chipboard. Mesh back panels, floor fixings and corner protectors ensure the safety of the shelving and the protection of stored goods.
Storage and retrieval is carried out by so-called industrial trucks according to the goods-to-person principle. This can be done manually (e.g. forklift trucks) or automatically by automated guided vehicles or autonomous mobile robots.
Pallet racking can be flexibly extended in manual storage processes. The storage space can be increased by adding bays, starting with a basic rack. Additional storage levels are created in a racking bay by installing pairs of traverses.
How can you protect a pallet rack from damage?
A damaged shelf is a potential hazard and the safety of employees in the warehouse is a top priority. In addition, DGUV Information 208-061 (German Social Accident Insurance) and DIN EN 15635 (Racking inspection) set out statutory regulations for the safe operation of storage facilities. The regulations and measures ensure the safe and proper use of storage facilities. However, in the hustle and bustle of day-to-day business, possible collisions between forklift trucks and racking equipment cannot always be ruled out. We therefore recommend an additional safety accessory:
A ram or corner guard is fitted to the outside corners of the pallet racking on the floor. The corner protection prevents forklift trucks from unintentionally damaging the frames. The impact protection is anchored to the floor in front of the shelving and thus protects the corners and ends of the shelving. The color-coded corner protection is an additional warning for the forklift truck not to drive too close to the racking. Individual uprights can be secured close to the floor with an upright protector for pallet racking. This protection is attached to the upright.
What needs to be considered when using pallet racking?
Storage facilities/shelving are work equipment. They are subject to the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health and must be inspected by qualified persons in accordance with §10 of the BetrSichV. The DIN EN 15
635 standard specifies the inspection procedure for storage equipment/shelving.
