New central warehouse for the southwest region

Being a general planner and general contractor for the construction and logistics, SSI SCHAEFER ensured precisely synchronized coordination of the sub-systems right from the start. The installed, scalable overall solution for EDEKA Rastatt also includes 33,400 pallet and 276,800 bin storage locations in addition to ergonomic work stations.

Warehouse for dry goods line

The new logistics hub in Rastatt in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, supplies the German regional warehouses in Offenburg, Balingen, Ellhofen, Heddesheim and St. Ingbert with goods from the dry goods line. These in turn supply around 1,100 connected EDEKA stores in southwestern Germany.

Solution

Thanks to early commissioning, time and costs could be saved. The intralogistics software WAMAS® ensures efficient processes and with the SSI Resident Maintenance service package, a constantly high system availability is guaranteed. In addition, SSI SCHAEFER installed a sustainable building with photovoltaic system, LED lighting and extensive roof greening as well as a self-sufficient combined heat and power plant.
