Optimized Picking Processes

SSI Schaefer has integrated a 2-level picking system into the rack lines in the steel construction that is specifically tailored to the requirements of the location. Required pallets are transported directly to the ergonomic workstations on the respective level via gravity roller conveyors. The chosen form of tunnel picking means that picking is bundled on the designated levels. This reduces long walking distances compared to conventional warehouses which saves time and reduces process costs.

Picking Based on the First In First Out Principle

At material-supply areas of the high-bay warehouse, the cases are manually picked onto the corresponding roller containers and pallets, from where they are transported to the goods-out area either via a special roller container conveying system or by forklifts.
