To be responsible for the overall performance of Maintenance Team activities on the SSI installed Automation.

1. Engineering and Maintenance Best Practice

Best practise in all areas of Engineering and Maintenance, for such areas as …
• Delivery of reliable MHE and IT system to support Client business and RM contract
• Planned Maintenance; All planned works are completed to the agreed schedules. Planned work percentage exceeds the agreed KPIs
• Reactive Maintenance activities take place promptly when required, to levels above SLAs and KPIs
• Issue, Incident, Problem, Change and Escalation Management follow the SSI Standards and processes
• Spares management
• Planning Management; The RM teams are well planned and managed
• Provide technical support to the customer
• Continuous Improvement; Lessons are learned, knowledge transferred
• To ensure high performance from the installed automation and the Resident teams.
• All MHE Plant, Engineering systems and Processes are maintained in line with the statutory requirements and to SSI company technical standards
• Responsible for all H&S onsite, ensuring all team members adhere to correct processes
• Current Health& safety, Legislation and Compliance Safe systems of work are used and improved

2. Day-to-day Client Management and compliance with the RM Contract

• Contract Management: Ensure that SSI fulfils and exceeds all aspects in contractual commitments: KPI and Reports delivered on time to Client
• Effective Client Management; at the highest levels, establish and Maintain an effective and trusting relationship direct with the Client and between the Client’s and the SSI teams
• At an operational level, establish and maintain an effective and trusting relationship between the Client’s and the Contractor’s Management team
• RM site reporting and other administration deliverables are all delivered promptly as promised
• RM team Cooperates, Communicates and Coordinates well with other teams on site
• Continuous Improvement opportunities identified and developed in conjunction with other teams
• Attend customer meetings as required

3. Overall Management of the Engineering Team, IT Team and RM Support team


• Coordination of the shifts and teams to achieve and exceed the RM Department goals
• To attract, hire, develop and retain good people within the teams.
• The Resident Maintenance teams (Engineering, IT and Support) exceed their performance expectations; delivering good system performance and generating value for the Client.
• The teams are effectively coordinated and efficiently run; Alignment of RM Team goals to achieve contractual KPI’s & SLA’s
• To complete, follow-up and to be proactive on all administration issues for all areas of maintenance and IT
• Transferring skills and knowledge throughout the team.
• Optimise the overall Support team resource

Physical Demands:
You will be working in a busy automated warehouse which may be typically noisy and dusty. You will be expected to travel between sites as required.
Environment Conditions:
The role will be based at a Resident Site working within a busy warehouse environment with automated equipment.
Working Pattern:
Normal Office Hours Mon – Fri
Hours outside of the above are to be expected, as the automated site(s) will be 24/5

• Knowledge and experience of PLC / Control systems
• An understanding knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
• Computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Exchange
• Experienced in coaching and mentoring a team of engineers
• Highly proficient with verbal and written communication skills
• Experience of delivering a contract to a high standard

Qualifications required:

• HNC or Degree in Engineering - Engineering or Maintenance background (Mechanical / Electrical/ Manufacturing or similar) (HND/HNC/BTech)
• Apprenticed trained
• Evidence of CPD
• IOSH / NEBOSH trained
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• 7 years minimum Line Management experience / work at similar level …..
o Engineering / Maintenance Management
o Material Handling Equipment / M&E / Plant or Manufacturing Engineering
o Installation, Testing and Commissioning

Salary: Competitive
Full time role: 37.5 hours per week
Working Hours: Mon-Thu 8.30-16.45 and Fri 08.30-15.30
Working Location: Uniphar site
Holiday: 25 days p.a plus bank holidays
