Storage automation for best quality of refrigerated cheese specialties

Constant expansion and an extended product range meant that Milchwerke Oberfranken had to expand its existing storage capacities. In addition to new storage capacities, the automation of transport and storage was necessary to solve the problem.

The concept from SSI SCHAEFER included the construction of a new finished goods warehouse as an almost 40 m high high-bay warehouse with integrated order picking and packing as well as automatic route provisioning.

The 2-aisle, fully automated warehouse provides space for 8,160 Euro plates. Three Euro pallets or two industrial pallets can be stored per compartment. For optimum ripening and storage, the high-bay warehouse is cooled to up to 4°C.

Project Goals
