SSI SCHAEFER Malaysia is seeking a customer-oriented Application Support Analyst with strong communications, analytical skills, customer management and application knowledge. Works effectively and efficiently in a productive environment to ensure high availability of supported systems.
This role includes but is not limited to the following:
Provide support to customer sites on a rostered basis either remotely or at customer’s premise. Onsite roster example: 5am to 1:30pm, 1pm to 9:30pm.
• Provide on-call standby support outside of normal rostered hours, including public holidays.
• Effectively supports the customer’s operation; start, monitoring and control of the SSI Schaefer software and equipment.
• Communicate clearly with the customer and internal stakeholders to keep them fully informed about the outcome and progress of relevant issues.
• Investigate and resolve support incidents to allow the customer systems to resume normal operations
• Continually assesses the performance of the SSI Schaefer software and equipment to maintain the parameters and standards of its operation, and to assist in making corrections or improvements.
• Support and maintain both hardware and software systems including software updates and hardware upgrades.
• Assist with training of other team members and apprentices within area of expertise.
• Update and contribute to the online knowledge base.
• Identify, propose, and organize improvement on functionality
• Release testing of application changes and patches and coordinate UAT and deployment to production environment
• Ability to travel within APAC & MEA
About you
Knowledge, abilities and experience
Has at least a knowledge and experience in the following:
• High analytical skills and customer management skills
• Strong documentation
• Good level of SQL (Oracle, Microsoft).
• Basic Unix/Linux and network concepts.
• Basic Java background – nice to have
• Waterfall / Agile methodologies.
• Testing methodology (ISTQB certification preferred)
• Generate quality technical documentation as required.
• Knowledge of warehouse management processes and automation highly beneficial.
• Effective communication skills both internal and external, written and verbal.
Education, certification and qualifications
• Degree in Information Technology
• Good to have Java Certificate or higher qualifications
